 Spinal Cord Injuries Symposium

Department of Clinical Neurosciences
& Bahrain Neurosciences Association (BNA)
Organize
The 3rd Symposium
(Spinal Cord Injuries)
Wednesday – March 28, 2007
Venue: Arabian Gulf University

Message Program Committee Register

Message from Chairman, Organizing Committee

Spinal injuries are not uncommon; they can be caused by accidents as RTA, FALL, and Blast injuries.

Victims of spinal injuries may suffer from neurological deficits like quadriplegia, paraplegia, and incontinence of urine and feces. In addition to that they might be associated with social problems, financial loss and in certain instances death of he victim.

Management of the spinal injured patient is a multidisciplinary function, which starts at the site of the accident and continue at the hospital, operating theatre, and community. The paramedics, doctors, nurses, rehabilitationists, social workers, family and each person in the community must share the responsibility.

This symposium targets those who are involved in the active management of the spinal injuries.
We must work together to avoid these injuries, and minimize their complications if they happen. This requires knowledge and training as well as patience.

It is great pleasure to see all the concerned people attending this important symposium.
