The Ebrahim Khalil Kanoo Community Medical Center is an example of health and social
care quality provided by health centers in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The Center provides
medical care, rehabilitation, and nursing for patients transferred from Salmaniya
medical Complex or the Ministry of Health Hospitals.
The center provides additional post acute care services to patients after critical
treatment period in Ministry of Health Hospitals. It helps to minimize the level
of patient’s dependency to be able to live safely in his home and community after
hospital discharge. The mission of the Center is “To provide comprehensive medical,
nursing, rehabilitation and social care of high quality through a multidispensary
team for cases who completed the acute phase of their treatment.”
The Medical Center serves all regions of the Kingdom and the patients receiving
various treatments. The Center is located compared to Salmaniya Medical Complex
and contains 5 wards and has a capacity of 53 beds, including males and females
The duration of treatment at the center should not exceed two months. The Center
receives all the cases that need to complete the treatment and rehabilitation therapy
from the age of 18 years and above, provided that the patient's condition is stable.
Additionally, the Center helps to reduce the admission of patients to hospitals
and increase the quality of life for patients by providing a comprehensive nursing,
medical and social rehabilitation services after the acute phase.
