• To be a Bahraini doctor who is still in service.
• Holding a valid license from the National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA)
• He/she must be known for his / her good conduct and behavior, and no criminal or disciplinary judgment should have been issued against him/her.
• Doctors apply for the Award on the basis of their completed research, taking into account the following criteria:
  • The research papers should be in the therapeutic, clinical or medical fields.
  • The research must have been published in an internationally recognized scientific journal.
  • The research must not have been submitted to any other competitions or Awards.
  • That the research be scientific and distinguished in one of the health fields that would link theoretical research with practical application, and contribute to increasing the efficiency and management of health systems; Development of health policies, legislation and ethics within the framework of primary and secondary health care and public health and health promotion.

1. The Award is granted to Bahraini doctors who have worked for a period of no less than thirty years, and their work must have been marked by an outstanding effort and generosity throughout their work journey and contributed to the education of other doctors.
2. He/she must be known for his/her good conduct and behavior, and no criminal or disciplinary judgment should have been issued against him/her.
3. Doctors apply for the Award on the basis of the work done, taking into account the following criteria:
   1. Promotion distinctly of the delivery of specific health programs, which has resulted in increased primary health care coverage, or improved quality of health care for the population, and a marked reduction of the health problems.
   2. Contribution to increased efficiency and management of health systems; development of health policies, legislation and ethics within the framework of primary and secondary health care and public health and health promotion.
   3. Innovative efforts to train and educate health workers in primary and secondary health care, public health and health promotion.
   4. Development and successful application of health system research to advance primary and secondary health care and public health and health promotion.

In addition to the conditions for each category of the Award, it is required to apply for the Award to observe the following general procedures and conditions:

1. Any Bahraini doctor is eligible to apply for the Award.
2. The nomination is submitted through the institution to which the doctor belongs in the first category.
3. The institution may nominate a maximum of three candidates for each of the two categories.
4. Submission of letters of nomination to the Award should meet the deadline, no later than September 5th, 2020, provided that the general conditions and special conditions for the category to be applied for are met. The application form for this purpose can be found on the official website of the Ministry of Health. It should be sent together with the documents supporting the nomination via the following e-mail:

   Note that any application received after the deadline and those that are not supported by the documents will not be considered.
5. To facilitate the process of assessing work and achievements accomplished, the most recent publications or documents directly related to work with nomination should be submitted. These materials should clearly indicate the nature of the work performed, the results achieved, the difficulties and obstacles encountered, and the proposed and implemented solutions. . Insufficient or inappropriate documentary evidence for the work done will seriously hamper the selection committee in assessing the nomination.
