Minister of Health presides Bahrain delegate taking part in the works of 144th cycle of WHO Executive Board

H.E Ms. Faiqa Saeed AlSaleh, Minister of Health  participated in the works of 144th cycle of WHO Executive Board, which was convened during the period 24 Jan to 1st Feb 2019 at the World Health Organization Headquarter in Geneva, and was attended by  34 members of  WHO Executive Board who were nominated for this position.

H.E AlSaleh presided Bahrain’s delegate who was represented by representative from the Ministry of health and Supreme Health Council. The kingdom of Bahrain will discuss during these meetings topics of high importance and relevance to public health such as; prevention and control of NCDS, Environmental Health and Universal Health Coverage in addition to other priority programs and strategies pertaining to  the execution of WHO work programs procedures.

Bahrain’s delegate focused through the interventions on topics of relevance to the challenges the kingdom faces and seeks the WHO’s support regarding these topics and they include; sustainability of drugs and vaccines and providing them at affordable prices, Antimicrobial Resistance and accelerating the pace of cancer elimination, cervical cancer in particular.

Delegate members  taking part in this cycle are, Dr. Mariam AlHajiri, Assistant Undersecretary of Public Health, Mrs. Maryam Almanaseer, Head of Media and Mrs. Wasan AlKhozaie, Head of Projects at Supreme Health Council.
