Multilingual national campaign launched to combat COVID-19

A multilingual national campaign to combat the novel Covel Cornonavirus (COVID-19)  has been launched in the Kingdom of Bahrain to enhance public awareness and beef up prevention measures.

Health Minister Faeqa bint Saed Al-Saleh announced the plan in lined with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.

The wide-ranging campaign would be channeled through the social media, the press, Radio Bahrain and TV, the health centres, labour camps and in cooperation with the Labour and Social Development Minister and the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA). 

“The Arabic language has been adopted to conduct the campaign, along with other languages to reach out to all expatriate communities”, said the ministry.

She reassured the public that no COVID-19 has been diagnosed in Bahrain adding that all other suspected infections had tested negative for the virus. 

She stressed the need to abide by the World Health Organisation (WHO) preventive measures - : constantly cleaning hands with soap and water or sterile alcohol, covering the mouth and nose while coughing or sneezing with a tissue or top of the arm, avoid close contact with people with symptoms or signs of a cold, and avoid touching exudate from the affected person such as saliva or nasal secretions.

She called upon citizens and residents to contact the ministry round the clock on hotline 17246769 for any queries about COVID-19.
