Health Ministry takes action against 38 restaurants and cafes

The Health Ministry took action, yesterday Saturday, against 38 restaurants and cafes for violating mandatory precautionary measures which were announced by the National Medical Taskforce for Combating COVID-19, approved by the Executive Committee.
 
The Food Control Section at the Public Health Directorate visited 192 restaurants and cafes and referred the outlets  which were found in breach of the mandatory precautionary measures hem to competent legal authorities.
 
The Ministry of Health coordinated the clampdown with the Ministry of Interior and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), to ensure compliance with the precautionary measures and protocols.
 
The ministry said that the restaurants facing legal acting had flouted the procedures and terms stipulated in the ministerial edict 51 of 2020 on mandatory health protocols at restaurants and cafes  to curb COVID-19 infections.
 
Based on these mandatory precautionary measures and protocols, a restaurant has been shut down for one week, said the Ministry of Health in a statement today.
 
Owners whose outlets were warned warned removed the irregularities immediately in compliance with the mandatory precautionary measures.
 
The inspectors called on everyone to continue commitment and a spirit of high responsibility, and to immediately report any violations they may spot.
