Assistant Undersecretary of Public Health receives H.E Ambassador of Japan To Bahrain

H.E Assistant Undersecretary of Public Health, Dr. Mariam AlHajiri received H.E Mr. Hideki Ito, Ambassador of Japan to Bahrain. The meeting was held in her office at the ministry of health building located in Juffair on Sunday morning, 13thJan 2019.  Alongside the two parties the meeting was also attended by Dr. Najat Abu AlFateh, Director of Public Health directorate and other officials of inspection control unit at public health department. 

At the outset, Dr. Mariam warmly welcomed the Japanese Ambassador and sent him regards from  H.E Ms. Faiqa AlSaleh, Minister of Health and H.E Dr. Walled Almanea, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health. AlHajiri emphasized on the depth of joint collaboration between Japan and the kingdom of Bahrain in different fields. 

Important topics were reviewed and discussed during the meeting like; procedures followed with food commodities imported from Japan, requirements  and conditions to facilitate access of imported food shipments and provision of documents, certificates and specification for radioactivity levels in food products.

At the end of the meeting, H.E Ambassador of Japan expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the ministry of health for their collaboration and emphasized on the keenness of Japan to strengthen cooperation between the two friendly countries, which includes health sector in general and food safety in particular. 

The meeting was attended by Mr. Tushia Nakagima, Senior Secretary of Public, Economic & Educational section at the Embassy of Japan, Mr. Mohammed Salman AlHaddaq, Chief of Food Control unit, Mr. Faisal AlSAri, Head of local Food Safety unit and Mrs. Nujood Khalifa, Head of imported Food Safety unit at Public Health directorate.
