Bahrain's efforts to combat COVID-19 praised

President of the Supreme Council for Health (SCH) Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa stressed the ongoing efforts of the National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19) to fight the disease and ensure people’s safety. He pointed out keenness of the taskforce to comply with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier to continue the efforts to combat the virus. He also praised the numerous procedures taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain in this respect.

 

The SCH President was speaking as he received today, alongside Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh, the World Health Organisation (WHO) Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Dr. Ahmed Al Mandhari. The meeting was held at HRH the Crown Prince’s Training and Medical Researches Centre, at the Military Hospital.

 

The SCH President and the Health Minister welcomed Dr. Ahmed Al Mandhari and briefed him on the latest developments regarding COVID-19 virus and the preemptive procedures taken in this respect.

 

The World Health Organisation lauded the kingdom’s role in dealing with the novel virus, containing it and preventing its spread by taking the necessary preemptive measures and enforcing procedures in concordance with international standards and the recommendations of WHO.
