SCH President inaugurates new COVID-19 drive-through checkup centre

President of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH), Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Head of the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (COVID-19), paid a visit today to the additional drive-through checkup centre at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club at Al-Raffa, in Sakhir, signaling its inauguration. Also present were the Minister of Health Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh, members of the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus and senior officials from the health sector.
 
The SCH President commended the tremendous support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continuous follow-up of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to the national efforts to protect people’s safety and end the coronavirus pandemic. He pointed out that the new additional checkup centre aims to enhance the capacity of laboratory tracing of COVID-19 and reduce the waiting time. He noted that the new centre was inaugurated to broaden the scope of national checkups according to approved guidelines and criteria by the World Health Organisation. He added that the centre was outfitted with the best medical criteria and contains reception halls for vehicles to take the swabs.
 
The SCH President affirmed that the strategies put in place to deal with the various phases of the virus are being carried out at the required speed. He said the centre is part of the efforts to dedicate all needed capabilities and resources to continue fighting the virus and ensuring the health and safety of citizens and residents in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He lauded the dedicated national efforts of the medical teams and joint cooperation between the relevant parties, in line with the recommendations of the World Health Organisation (WHO) to curb the spread of the virus.
 
The SCH President underlined the need for all to continue complying with the guidelines and instructions and carry out all procedures announced by the specialized official authorities to safeguard the health and safety of the community.
