She commended the sincere efforts of the health and administrative cadres in the health sector, who have contributed to the advancement of healthcare quality for citizens and residents alike.

This came during a meeting held by Her Excellency in the presence of Dr. Asaad Hafeez, Acting Representative of the World Health Organization in the Kingdom of Bahrain, along with representatives from the Public Health Directorate and the teams that received international awards and accreditations for several pioneering health projects. These included local recognitions such as the National Genome Project team and the Organ Donation Platform team, as well as international accolades, such as the recognition of the National Influenza Center team and the National Measles and Rubella Elimination Program team.

Her Excellency expressed great pride in these achievements, which reflect the excellence of national talents, affirming that these accomplishments are the result of ongoing directives from the Supreme Council of Health, in addition to effective partnerships with international organizations, most notably the World Health Organization.

Recently, the Ministry of Health received two awards as part of the Bahrain Digital Content Award 2025 for the projects “Organ Donation Platform – Wa Men Ahyaha” and the registration of participants in the National Genome Project, under the “Health and Well-being” category. These initiatives were recognized for their significant impact in promoting preventive health and enhancing access to advanced services through digital technologies.

The Minister also commended the efforts of the National Influenza Center at the Public Health Laboratories for obtaining the External Quality Assessment certification from the World Health Organization for the twelfth consecutive year in detecting influenza and COVID-19 viruses. This reflects the high efficiency of Bahrain’s laboratory system.

In the area of public health, Her Excellency praised the efforts of the National Measles and Rubella Elimination Program, which was recently reaffirmed by the World Health Organization through the renewal of the international validation certifying the continued elimination of both diseases in the Kingdom. This achievement highlights the effectiveness of Bahrain’s immunization programs and advanced disease surveillance systems.

Her Excellency emphasized the importance of building upon these qualitative achievements, continuing to embrace innovation and digital transformation, and strengthening national competencies to ensure the sustainability of healthcare excellence in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the health teams expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Minister and officials at the Ministry of Health for their continued support and recognition.
