Minister of Health: Launching Tree Week Contributes to Promoting Sustainable Practices and Enhancing Community Awareness on Innovation in Environmental Protection

Her Excellency Dr. Jaleela bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, commended the initiative of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him, in launching this year’s “Tree Week” initiative, which aims to enhance environmental awareness and encourage the adoption of eco-friendly practices.
Her Excellency also highlighted His Royal Highness’s directive to organize the Innovation Competition in Irrigation Solutions, which seeks to encourage creative ideas and innovative solutions that contribute to developing modern irrigation systems and expanding their networks in public areas. This, she noted, supports the national afforestation plan, increases green spaces, ensures the sustainability of water resources, and promotes innovation in green development.
This came as Her Excellency planted several trees at the Ministry of Health headquarters, in the presence of a number of officials and employees, as part of the Tree Week activities.
Dr. Hasan emphasized that the launch of Tree Week contributes to encouraging sustainable practices and enhancing community awareness of the importance of innovation in protecting the environment and preserving natural resources. She noted that the participation of the Ministry of Health and the health sectors in Tree Week reflects their commitment to social and environmental responsibility and supports national afforestation initiatives that contribute to achieving a sustainable and healthy environment.
