National Taskforce for Combating Communicable Diseases holds a meeting to follow up on global health developments

In the presence of His Excellency Lieutenant General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, the National Taskforce for Combating Communicable Diseases held a meeting via video conference, as part of the ongoing monitoring of global health developments and strengthening national preparedness to address various potential health challenges.

During the meeting, Her Excellency Dr. Jaleela bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, indicated the Ministry of Health's commitment to continuously raising the level of preventive readiness and enhancing the speed of response and coordination among various relevant authorities, in a manner that contributes to maintaining the health and safety of everyone. She noted the precautionary measures taken by the Civil Aviation Affairs to suspend the entry of non-Bahraini passengers arriving in the Kingdom of Bahrain from the Republic of South Sudan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Republic of Uganda on all flights, due to the World Health Organization's announcement regarding developments in the Ebola virus outbreak and the epidemiological situation in the aforementioned countries.

During the meeting, proactive plans for dealing with various health developments were also reviewed, with an emphasis on continuing to implement preventive measures in accordance with approved national plans, in a way that supports the efficiency of the national response and enhances integration and coordination among the concerned entities.
