Minister of Health chairs the meeting of GCC Ministers of Health

Within the framework of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s presidency of the 46th session of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), Her Excellency Dr. Jaleela bint Al-Sayyed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, chaired the meeting of Their Excellencies the GCC Ministers of Health. The meeting was held via video conferencing, in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the GCC.

In her speech during the meeting, Her Excellency the Minister of Health emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and cooperation among GCC countries to enhance the Gulf health and pharmaceutical security system, thereby ensuring the sustainable availability of medicines and medical supplies, and raising readiness to face future challenges and crises.

The Minister pointed out the importance of further strengthening joint Gulf action to develop a unified Gulf system for strategic stockpiling, which supports health and pharmaceutical security and enhances the GCC countries' capability to address various challenges.

During the meeting, the items on the agenda were discussed, most notably reviewing the decisions of the 19th Consultative Meeting of the GCC Leaders, which was held last April in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
