Description

Obesity is the  accumulation of fat in the different parts of the body. It is dangerous because it Increase the risk of diseases such as diabetes and high pressure blood

Causes

Laziness and physical inactivity.
- The unhealthy diet and food bad habits such as eating fast food, drinking soft drink, skipping breakfast and eating heavy dinner at Night .
-  gaining weight during Pregnancy
- Genetic factor
- side effect of some medications
- Rare factors such as arthritis which leads to joints pain and therefore lack of movement , this may lead weight gain .
- Abnormal function of thyroid gland which subsequently change the levels hormones and increases body weight.

Prevention

Monitor your weight regularly.
- Be sure to eat  healthy, balanced diet
- Eat 3 main meals and 2 - 3 snacks at specific times
- drink sufficient amounts of water per day and avoid drinking soft drinks and sweetened juices
- Eat sufficient amounts of vegetables and fruits
- Avoid fast food and ready-made foods high in calories
- Be sure to practice moderate intensity physical activity  such as brisk walking for 150 mins per week

Complications

- Type two Diabetes
- Heart disease .
- elevated blood pressure
- Joints and back pain
- Women's health issues such as infertility and irregular menstrual cycle
- Osteoporosis
- Problems in the skin such as flexures and slow healing wounds
- sleep apnea
- Strokes
- increase the risk for some Cancers , including uterus, ovarian cancer, breast, colorectal and prostate cancer
