Description

Hepatitis A is a highly contagious liver infection caused by the hepatitis A virus.

 it can happen as  a mild illness that lasts a few weeks. or more severe problems that can last months.

Causes

 hepetitis A virus is transmitted through the GI sysytem , You can catch the disease if you drink water or eat food that's been contaminated with the stool of someone with the virus.

Symptoms

.Jaundice (yellow eyes and skin, dark urine)

  • Pain in your belly
  • Loss of appetite
  • Nausea
  • Fever
  • Diarrhea
  • Fatigue
Diagnosis

if you have the symptoms above and you have high levels of liver enzymes and some immunoglobulins  in your blood test the diagnosis is based on the symptoms and blood tests

Treatments

suuportive care and management for the symptoms until the disease goes away as there is no specific treatment for the disease
