World Blood Donor Day is observed annually on June 14th to celebrate and thank voluntary blood donors. It also serves to encourage those who have not yet donated to start doing so.
The day aims to raise public awareness about the constant need for blood donation throughout the year to maintain adequate supplies and ensure universal, timely access to safe blood transfusions. Furthermore, it works to increase awareness regarding safe blood products and the vital importance of blood donation in saving lives.
