Vaccine Description


It is non live inactivated vaccine given in two doses for children at 15 months and two years of age. The vaccine is given to high risk groups, and administered to travelers to endemic areas, however the vaccine is not licensed for childrn aged less than one year. Hepatitis A vaccine showed protective of 94 % ( 82-99%) after the 2nd dose with higher effeciacy in other studies. The most commonly reported adverse reaction following vaccination include local reaction at the injection site including (pain, redness, and swelling) and mild systemic complaints (malaise, fatigue, low-grade fever).
