Vaccine Description


It is a live bacteria containing vaccine it is recommended at birth for new borns of parents originally from endemic countries of the disease. Adverse reactions following vaccination include axillary or cervical lymphadenitis and induration and pustule formation at the injection site. The vaccine used mainly to reduce the risk of serious infections (milliary and meningeal TB) in the first 2 years of life and has limited role in prevention of pulmonary tb spread.The vaccine is contraindicated in immunosuppressed persons.
