Alzheimer's disease is a progressive disease that destroys memory and other important mental functions. At first, someone with Alzheimer's disease may notice mild confusion and difficulty remembering. Eventually, people with the disease may even forget important people in their lives and undergo dramatic personality changes.

Scientists believe that for most people, Alzheimer's disease is caused by a combination of genetic, lifestyle and environmental factors that affect the brain over time

Although the ultimate cause of brain-cell death in Alzheimer's isn't known, the collection of beta-amyloid on the outside of brain cells is a prime suspect

The person with Alzheimer's passes through three satisfactory stages:
1. Early stage
The most important symptoms are the patient's difficulties in remembering, especially the recent events, the names of people and places that are known recently and difficulties in doing some simple calculations. Such symptoms may cause some inconvenience, but not a cause for concern at first .
2. The intermediate stage
The patient his or her relatives resort to the doctor to find out why. For example, in the middle stage of the disease, the patient may be unable to perform simple life functions such as hair styling, brushing teeth, and cannot live alone without problems as he has difficulty in talking, wandering aimlessly, and showing symptoms of hallucinations and misconceptions .
3. Late stage
At this stage, the suffering begins with important mental functions such as speech, writing, reading, understanding, thinking and other mental functions. This stage is characterized by difficulty in eating, not knowing about it, difficulty in understanding events, inability to find a way in the house and walking problems.

There is no definitive cure for Alzheimer's disease. The drugs work on slowing the deterioration of the patient's condition.

Memory and language loss, impaired judgment, and other cognitive changes caused by Alzheimer's can complicate treatment for other health conditions
